The end is almost here!

Well after 15 weeks of lesson planning, working on Clinical Studies and other activities through student teaching, the end is almost here. In a few short days, this experience will be over and it will be bittersweet. After looking back on this past week and having attended the Coop teacher dinner and Bloomsburg Teacher workshop, the most valuable thing I can take from this week was the reaction of the students when I told them that my last day was Wednesday. All of them said something to the extent of "you can't leave yet!" This made me feel so good that they thought that highly of me as their teacher that they did not want me to leave. Through all of the ups and downs that I have experienced over this semester with them, it will definitely be bittersweet when Wednesday comes. Student teaching will be over and all of the hard work has paid off, but it will be depressing not to go into the students everyday and not know what to expect for the day. The students have taught me so much and allowed me to become a better teacher after everything we have gone through together and I am sure that all of you have similiar feelings.

If I could change anything about this week, would I? Not for one second! Every thing that I did this week was good as things are starting to wind down. All of my lessons were good and I am wrapping up things with my classes. The coop dinner and teacher workshop were also great experiences as it was nice to finally put some faces with names of other student teachers' cooperating teachers. Overall, this week was great and I am looking forward to next Wednesday as I am sure all of us are.

Enjoy your last few days everyone and see you all on Monday!

  1. I received the same reaction from a lot of my students also. It really does make you feel good as a teacher. It really has been a long semester but you have done a great job. Good luck with everything.

  2. I know what you mean when I had stated to the students when they had asked when my last day was going to be. They really do make you feel good as a teacher knowning that they do not want you to leave. It has been a long semester and I know that you have impacted so many. I wish you all the best!

  3. Although I stated one or two things I would change about my week for the sake of meeting the requirements, I would have to agree. Although this week was quite demanding for me, it was also very enjoyable. The dinner, the workshop, my trip to D.C., having more responsibility at SAHS; all of them have been exciting and rewarding for me.

I am so excited for the end of this semester, and it's been great getting here with you and all of our other friends/classmates. I look forward to collaborating with you in the future. I know there are big things ahead for you! Stay in touch :).

  4. Isn't it amazing how much the students appreciate you? I think it's also amazing how much we appreciated our students too. Like you, I will miss teaching them. I know I will always remember these students. Take care and keep in touch...

  5. I understand the great feeling you received when the students' said you can't leave yet. I told the students my last day would be on Wednesday this past week and I heard much of the same thing. It is nice to see that we have touched the students and that they will miss us. I know I will definitely miss them just as I am sure you will miss the students you had the opportunity to teach!
